I had $500 deductible so GEICO paid $675 plus car rental for 3 days, another $75. You should see my surprise when my next insurance renewal cost was increased by GEICO by $420. Since I'm paying insurance semi annually I already was charged extra $1,260. I consider it a rip-off. Especially that GEICO took effort to ensure that I'm not able to get good driver discount anymore anywhere in the industry. Today I've learned that my insurance rates will stay increased for the next 3 years. So GEICO would rip extraordinary profit of over $2,500. That is on top of my regual insurance payment. That is great return on investment for GEICO - pay $750 in damages and charge $$2,520 in extra penalties on the top of the insurance rate.
